$2 Million Deficit Faces City As Mayor Seeks Job Cuts

The city faces at least a $2 million deficit next year and the prospect of trimming the city work force by up to 20 jobs, Mayor Robert G. Ortt said during his State of the City address Wednesday.

Based on current projections, Ortt said he already has asked his department heads to trim their proposed budgets by 5 percent as they plan for 2012.
