Judge Backs Bridge Authority On Suit Over Changes Already Made

A federal judge has backed the Peace Bridge Authority in a lawsuit brought by three West Side residents nearly six years ago to halt changes to the U.S. plaza. But his ruling should not diminish the environmental reviews by government agencies on the current proposal for a new bridge and bigger plaza, those on both sides of the lawsuit said Monday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. said changes made to the plaza beginning in 2005 did not require state or city review because they "involved internal infrastructure improvements and relocation of existing infrastructure."
