The Buffalo Bandits stood pat after their National Lacrosse League championship in 2008, making very few changes to their roster in 2009. That led to a 10-6 regular-season record and a crushing loss to New York in the Eastern Division playoff final.

Change, then, was in the air for 2010. It started when Darris Kilgour stepped down as general manager to concentrate more on his duties as head coach. Several new faces, mostly slotted for supporting roles, turned up to bolster the corps of veterans.
