High winds Saturday snapped tree limbs and downed power lines, ushering in colder temperatures and the likelihood of snow in some parts of Western New York.

Though there was little expectation of measurable snow in metro Buffalo, anyone living in higher elevations had a good chance of waking up this morning to a coating of flakes, according to the National Weather Service.
