Well, that could have gone better. Statler City's debut as a New Year's Eve attraction was a bumpy affair, based on reports from revelers there, but we admire Mark Croce's acceptance of the criticism and his plans to make it right.

Croce, the Buffalo developer whose interest in the historic building saved it from the wrecker's ball, tried to do more than he could manage this soon into his ownership. The gala attracted more than 4,000 people, many of whom were upset at long lines for drinks, crowded conditions and an inadequately trained staff.
