As Erie County lawmakers prepare to discuss rolling back the 4 a.m. bar closing time to help prevent crime, the Common Council will consider a rollback of a different kind after returning from summer break.

Claiming many parks and playgrounds are "under siege" by nighttime mischief-makers and criminals, Majority Leader Richard A. Fontana is pushing for a law that would close most venues at sunset.
