Douglas B. Tower, a longtime North Collins teacher and school administrator, died Saturday in Mercy Hospital. He was 93.

Born in Youngstown, where he lived on the family farm and attended public schools, he entered Niagara University as a day student at 15 and paid his way through by working as a tour guide at Old Fort Niagara and on the Maid of the Mist boats at Niagara Falls.
