Students from Erie Community College and other area schools are the latest additions to downtown's rising residential population as another developer takes a chance at investing in the heart of the city.

Downtown developer Jake Schneider, ECC and Wilson Farms cut the ribbon on their "unofficial partnership" Thursday, unveiling new student housing and an on-site convenience store in the converted Alling & Cory warehouse at Elm and North Division streets.
