Members of the Seneca Nation of Indians will have a choice when they cast their votes for tribal president Nov. 2 with Maurice A. John Sr. jumping into what had been an uncontested election.

Citing a need to give Senecas a choice for the top office, John, a former nation president, announced Monday in downtown Buffalo he will challenge Robert Odawi Porter, the Seneca Party's candidate.
