Paul McCullen, who served three years in prison for an attempted arson more than a decade ago, has now been charged with shooting a man with a flare gun, prosecutors confirmed Thursday.

McCullen, 31, a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic of Deerfield Avenue who allegedly doesn't regularly take his anti-psychotic medications, faced court proceedings Thursday before Buffalo City Judges David M. Manz and Patrick M. Carney.
