Visiting Buffalo on Friday, U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand promoted a congressional bill that would help returning veterans find work and address the unwelcome statistic that one of every five soldiers, age 18 to 24, is without a job after returning home.

"When our troops are coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan, they are coming home to a country that is very different than the one they left," Gillibrand said at the downtown campus of Erie Community College, which currently enrolls some 600 veterans, according to college president Jack Quinn.
