Summary
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra is stepping out from its home turf of Fredonia and venturing into Buffalo. At 8 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph University Church (3269 Main St.), the group, led by Music Director Glen Gortese, is presenting a concert culminating in Mozart's beautiful and monumental Requiem. Admission is by free-will donations at the door.
The concert, designed as an observance of All Souls Day, is called "Sacred Words, Sacred Music." Besides the Requiem, it includes Dvorak's Nocturne in B, Op. 40, Hindemith's "Trauermusik" with viola soloist Brian Walnicki, and Cortese's "Elegy," with flute soloist Susan Royal.See the full content of this document
