Summary
Our state has a remarkable park system. New York families have spent countless hours at Artpark, Knox Farm, Beaver Island, Jones Beach on Long Island, Minnewaska in the Hudson Valley and Letchworth, the "Grand Canyon of the East." And, of course, there is Niagara Falls.
While our state park system is spectacular, it is also suffering from decades of underinvestment. Many of our beloved parks are facing infrastructure problems that raise health and safety concerns. Campgrounds, picnic areas, swimming pools, drinking water supply systems, recreational fields and historic buildings are deteriorated and failing, resulting in a diminished outdoor experience for the more than 55 million people who visit our state parks every year.See the full content of this document
