The Niagara County Legislature is scheduled to vote Tuesday on allowing a pilot program that would let some county employees use purchasing cards to buy inexpensive items for the county.

By skipping the county's usual one-purchase-at-a-time voucher process, the county could save $65,000 in paperwork costs, and a full-scale program could bring the county $35,000 in rebates from the purchasing card provider, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank.
