Cheektowaga-Sloan School District residents will vote next week on a$33.01 million budget that would increase spending 2.32 percent but boost the amount to be raised by property taxes by nearly 10.5 percent.

District officials, who blame the higher tax levy on the loss of $1.7 million in state aid, said they did what they could to reduce costs.
