Summary
While we have criticized many of the program cuts made by Erie County Executive Chris Collins, when it comes to rodent control he is right in asking cities, towns and villages to share the responsibility.
Erie County has discontinued its rat-baiting and trapping role and instead set aside $70,000 to assist locally based rat-control efforts. The county Health Department still takes rat complaints and sends employees to inspect properties when appropriate, but they can't do much other than offer advice on ways to keep the rats away.See the full content of this document
