Summary


*Dr. Bashir O. Attuwaybi, a colon and rectal surgeon, has joined Buffalo Medical Group after completing colorectal surgery fellowship training at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. In 2006, Attuwaybi received the Theodore C. Jewett Jr., MD, Gold Star Resident of the Year Award.

He has authored and co-authored numerous articles and publications for medical journals, and has also participated in medical conferences nationally and internationally. He has considerable research experience, including a two-year trauma research fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston that was funded by the National Institutes of Health. Attuwaybi earned his medical degree at the University of Alfateh in Tripoli, Libya, and completed an internship at Alfateh University- affiliated hospitals. He also received surgery training at Tripoli Central Hospital, and in 2008 completed a five-year surgery residency through the University at Buffalo.
