Robert E. Hooper Jr., an Army veteran of World War II, died Friday after a brief illness in Haines City, Fla., where he was a seasonal resident. He was 91.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Hooper served with Army in New Guinea, the Philippine Islands and Japan during World War II. He was a life member of Frontiersmen Post 7545, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in the City of Tonawanda, and traveled to Washington, D.C., in 2010 with Honor Flight Buffalo.
