The School Board has decided not to pump the $1.2 million that remains in the district's current capital project budget into Grant and Gilmore schools as initially planned, keeping open the possibility of closing both schools permanently in coming years.

The district recently completed a building conditions survey, revealing roughly $10 million in repairs that would be needed to meet the state standard. More than $7 million of that work is tied up in Grant and Gilmore. Grant has been closed since the beginning of this school year.
