In order to create an all-girls varsity ice hockey league in Erie County, there was a five-team minimum requirement. It got six.

Williamsville, Amherst, Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda, Orchard Park/ Frontier (combined team), West Seneca, and the Monsignor Martin Association (representing all Catholic schools) are the six districts that will make up the WNY Ice Hockey Federation under Section VI. With four teams down and one to go, West Seneca promised to step in and add a team if Orchard Park stepped up first.
