What it's like in Riverside:

Located in the northwestern part of the City of Buffalo -- around the intersection of Tonawanda and Ontario streets -- Riverside is a neighborhood that can best be described as a study in contrasts. Its residential neighborhoods are composed of older frame houses, many of them doubles, which date back to the late 1800s, but also feature Victorian and even some new houses. The area has been described as very working-class and very family-oriented. It overlooks a scenic portion of the Niagara River, yet access to the waterfront has been limited to a pedestrian bridge that was built after the Niagara Thruway cut off the neighborhood. Its once- thriving business district can best be described as struggling.
