Summary
The afternoon workout at St. John Fisher College was a little more lively than the morning session, with some highlight-reel plays in the 7-on-7 session. The big one was a 65-yard touchdown bomb from Trent Edwards to Terrell Owens down the left sideline. Edwards gave Owens a long rainbow to run under, and the 35-year-old receiver showed his speed in tracking it down, ahead of cornerback Ashton Youboty. Later, linebacker Paul Posluszny stepped in front of a throw by Ryan Fitzpatrick over the middle for the tight end and made a nice pickoff. Backup middle backer Marcus Buggs had a good pass defend, while Youboty had an interception of a throw from Gibran Hamdan along the sideline.
In 11-on-11 work, safety Donte Whitner showed good leaping abiliity to pick off an Edwards pass for Owens along the right sideline. It looked like Edwards' arm was hit on the throw. Chris Kelsay came free for a would-be sack of Edwards. Spencer Johnson had a bat-down at the line of an Edwards pass. Linebacker Pat Thomas dropped into coverage in the middle of the field and picked off a Matt Baker pass late in the session. Leodis McKelvin got a good break on an underneath throw by Edwards - he was hurried by a rush - and made an interception that would have gone for a TD. McKelvin plays with a swagger that is rare for a cornerback.See the full content of this document
