WNY golfers had a tough go of it on a wet, windy day during the second round of the Monroe Invitational Thursday. Jeff Wolniewicz, the defending state amateur champion, leads the area contingent after following up his first-round 75 with a 73 on a par-70 Rochester-area layout.Jake Katz (74-75) and Chris Covelli (71-78) are both a shot behind Wolniewicz. Raman Luthra (74-77) and Matt Stasiak (77-79) are at plus-11 and plus-16, respectively.Mitchell Gregson of Kansas State shot 68 Thursday and leads at 5-under, one shot better than two-time Monroe champion Phillip Mollica, formerly of Clemson.
